Champions League Wrap: EPL 3 vs. Barca

The road to Moscow has officially come up English. With one EPL side guaranteed to make the final, only Barcelona stands in Man United's way of making it an all Premiership title match. Now that all of the quarterfinal action is complete, let's run down all of this week's action.

Spoilers after the jump for the non-informed...Chelsea 2 - Fenerbahce 0
The Turkish side fought bravely, but ultimately, they were not the one's to break the might Chelsea at Stamford Bridge. Many have tried with only a mere handful succeeding. As predicted, the Blues came out guns blazing, with Michael Ballack heading in a beautiful free kick in the 4th minute. Fenerbahce couldn't stand up to the mounting pressure and ultimately folded. There valiant effort was officially snuffed out with Frank Lampard's 87th minute strike.

Liverpool 4 - Arsenal 2
A thriller on all accounts had the Gunners waste a number of excellent chances only to have Liverpool work its charms one more time at storied Anfield. Arsenal seemed to have things all sewed up in the 84th when Theo Walcott took a beautiful coast to coast run to assist Adebayor. That would have been one of the competition's greatest highlights had they gone on to victory, but it was not to be. A questionable penalty in the 85th gave Liverpool the lead, and moments later, Ryan Babel iced the result with a clever breakaway in the 90th minute.

Manchester United 1 - Roma 0
A rather plodding game for an elimination match has an AS Roma side appearing only to save face in England. Down 2 road goals to Man U, the Italians gave a good effort, but not exactly the bravest. Demoralized in the first half by United's slashing offense, Roma missed a crucial penalty in the 30th minute. De Rossi's miss prevented his team from taking a critical lead and destroyed any momentum they could have had had at that point. The match was over long before Carlos Tevez placed the final nail in the 70th.

Barcelona 1 - Schalke 04 0
Toure's strike in the 43rd gave Barcelona all the cushion it needed going into the half. Although the offense looked out of sync for most of the game, Schalke's chances were equally limited. A rather matter of fact finish at the Nou Camp as the Spanish giants move on to represent the rest of the world against England in the semis.
